Fine Earth Oxides distributes synthetic iron oxides in standard shades of red, yellow, brown and black. We also process colours as a custom blend to meet specific shade requirements.

The range of synthetic iron oxides offers excellent light-fastness and good dispersability. They are non-toxic, non-bleeding and inexpensive. The products have uniform particle-size distribution, high purity and great tint strength. The principal pigment minerals used are:

Hæmatite (Fe₂O₃)  also known as Kidney Ore, Martite and Specularite. Colour red to black with metallic luster.  Magnetic after heating.

Magnetite  (Fe₃ O₄) also known as Lodestone and Magnetic Iron Ore.  Black colour with metallic luster and naturally strong magnetism.

Lepidocrocite  γ-FeO(OH)  also known as Esmeraldite and Hydrohematite. Colour yellowish/brown with lower bulk density.
